Former Minister of Aviation and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to South Africa, Femi Fani-Kayode, has launched a scathing attack on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over his October 1 Independence Day address, accusing him of disrespecting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by repeatedly referring to him simply as “Bola.”
In a statement issued on Saturday, Fani-Kayode described Atiku’s speech as calm and well-delivered but criticised what he called its “intellectual flaws,” dishonesty and lack of decorum.
He particularly took exception to Atiku’s decision not to address Tinubu as “President,” arguing that the former vice president’s repeated use of the President’s first name was disrespectful to the office he occupies.
