Benue’s political space is getting interesting daily. In 2023, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia rode to power as an unstoppable force. He benefited from massive anti-Ortom sentiment and a promise to right the wrongs of the past. Three years later, that massive goodwill has been depleted, and the Governor is now in a political quagmire of his own making.
For Alia, the 2027 election will not be a walkover. It will be won or lost narrowly across the three senatorial zones.
