Tension: Katsina appointees quit as Radda-Masari political crisis deepens

The political atmosphere in Katsina State has come under renewed scrutiny following the resignation of five political appointees of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda within a few days, amid reported realignment among members of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The latest departures have fuelled speculation about the state of relations between political actors associated with the Radda administration and the camp of Ibrahim Kabir Masari, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Political Affairs.

Although none of the affected officials has publicly attributed their resignation to a disagreement with Governor Radda, the timing of the departures has heightened interest in the political calculations taking place in the state ahead of the 2027 elections.
