Two people from Heipang District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State have been shot dead at a mining site around Kuru Jenta, near the boundary with Jos South Local Government Area.
The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, according to community sources, barely a week after three women were killed and another person injured in a gun attack on a mining site in Rakum community, Barkin Ladi.

The latest killings have heightened concerns over the security situation in parts of Plateau State, where the government recently imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu following a series of attacks and killings.
